Traffic can block you. Buildings can limit movement. Police can cut off a route.
The combination is what makes the run difficult.
Racing Speed Versus Escape Speed
Is the Fastest Line Still the Best Line?
Not always.
In a normal race, a shorter line can save time.
During a chase, the shortest line can put you directly into danger.
A wider road may take longer but give you more room to react.
