Robert Topala, a Swedish developer, created Geometry Dash entirely on his own. From an early age, he had a strong passion for platform games, with Super Mario serving as his biggest inspiration. His interest in rhythm-based games such as Bit.Trip Runner and The Impossible Game also played an important role in shaping the idea behind Geometry Dash.

geometry dash was officially released on August 13, 2013, featuring seven initial levels. Throughout that same year, more levels were gradually introduced. A major turning point came in 2015 with the release of the 2.0 update, which added an editor mode that allowed players to design and share their own custom levels. This feature significantly boosted the game’s popularity, as increasingly difficult user-created levels provided new challenges and made the game even more engaging and addictive.
