Backrooms

The psychological reality of the Backrooms contributes to its unsettling quality. It appeals to the dread of loneliness, boredom, and being lost in a setting that seems familiar but essentially incorrect. A place that is between two realities, such as an empty Backrooms corridor, a deserted mall, or an abandoned school, is known as a liminal space. Due of their transitory nature, unnatural quiet, and lack of human presence, these areas arouse discomfort.
