Laptop Work

When you want to blog like a pro and look like one too, it’s important to use the best website builder. Not all of them are ideal. Some are mostly for e-commerce to setup up an online store. Others require more of a technical mind and risk getting you bogged down in confusing techno-jargon.

Here’s our pick of the best website builders for pro bloggers.

Site Builder

One of the more interesting ones is Site Builder. It has some useful features to get bloggers moving quickly and started with their first blog post. To see if it’s the right choice, you can learn this here now.

There are over 1,000 templates to choose between. It could require some time to pick the one that you like the most. However, it’s possible to narrow down the field to find one that will suit your purposes perfectly.

We create

A well-stocked image library is free to use with images that won’t get you in trouble to use them. With photo libraries on the prowl and going after bloggers using photographs without permission, this is one less thing to worry about.

It requires one button press to add a blog to a website using Site Builder. This gives you the flexibility to make the site more commercially focused with a blog added on, or to make the blog the central focus. It’s good to be given that choice.

There are premium plans available. This adds extra features like mobile optimization for your site, a few search engine optimization tools, and to edit the footer to your liking. This is common with site builders when going from a free account to a paid one.

Site Builder brings much to the table, including the free use of Google Maps and other niceties. Your domain is included with plan upgrades too.

Weebly

Weebly

Weebly has been around since the mid-2000s, so it’s not a newcomer on the block. It’s since been acquired by Square, the e-commerce payment platform, in 2018 for $365m. However, it continues in the same vein without being rebranded other than adding the Square name at the bottom of the Weebly logo.

The drag and drop site builder works well. Responsive designs that look good on desktop, tablet, and smartphones are all here. So, that box can be ticked off. The platform can be used for blogging, but it also includes e-commerce features too. Site editing can also be achieved through their mobile apps as well.

Also, there are third-party apps that provide direct integration into a Weebly originated site. However, if a site isn’t on the supported list, then you’re out of luck.

A free domain name is provided on the Pro and Business accounts, but not the free or Connect accounts; the Connect account allows an owned domain to be attached, though.

The platform is a useful one for people who like to blog. It could also be used for e-commerce at a later date.

Wix

Wix has upped its profile in recent years, with some great advertising campaigns from the likes of Jason Statham and Heidi Klum. Because of this, there are now around 160 million sites built using Wix.

Wix

Wix has a lot to offer website developers. Unlike other website builders, Wix has an unstructured editor, so you can place elements anywhere on the page. This is in direct comparison to other website builders where you are limited to placing elements in certain places. However, as fun as this might sound, it can also be challenging. Having unlimited scope in where you place website elements may make decision-making long and arduous.

Another advantage of using Wix is that you can add animations to your site.

Like Site Builder, Wix offers you plenty of templates to choose from. There are more than 500 themes for Wix, so chances are, you will find one that suits your business brand.

There is a free option with Wix, but it comes with ads and if you want to use your own domain name, you will have to buy one of the premium plans. The Combo plan is relatively inexpensive and suitable for smaller businesses.

In Conclusion

For Pro bloggers, not every website builder platform is a good choice. Many include eCommerce features, which can confuse new bloggers. Others have overly fussy interfaces that prevent newbies from knowing how to proceed. Therefore, it’s useful to pick one that is easy to get started with and has features that bloggers will want or need in the future.

While we have our reservations about WordPress.com despite its popularity, both Site Builder and Weebly have much to recommend them.

Also, as a final point, if you’re considering a self-hosted hosting solution, then don’t ignore the importance of site speed. Self-hosted options where you have access to a fast data server to host your site are necessary if the site builder doesn’t already offer their own (many do).
  • Great article. All builders are so good but I most like Weebly builder. Thanks for this article.
